Phukets Most Popular Attractions

There are so many things to do in Phuket that you could easily spend all your holiday enjoying the sights and sounds of this beautiful island, and still not see it all. To ensure that you get the most out of your trip, we have compiled our Top Five must-see places to visit in Phuket.

Old Phuket Town - No visit to Phuket is complete without a walk around the tranquil streets of Old Phuket Town. The streets wind through various temples and a market, dotted with buildings that represent a history of colonial influence. A place where a Catholic Church, a Buddhist Shrine and a Muslim Mosque nextle within a few hundred yards of each other. There are many interesting and unique bars and cafes hiding behind the narrow back streets of Old Town, and an exploration of the beautiful town invites you to relax at any one of these hidden treasures to enjoy a cold glass of beer.

Temples - Thailand is reknowned for its Temples (Wat's) and Phuket has some of the most stunning Temples in the Land of Smiles! Wat Chalong is one of the biggest Temples on the Island, and Wat Phra Long is worth visiting for the 'half buried' Buddha that, according to some legends, will 'strike dead any who attempt to dig him up'. Please note that when you visit a Temple you should cover up bare legs and arms (as you may not be admitted to the main place of worship).

Night Market - Walk down to Patong Beach during the evening and you will see it magically transform into a vibrant Night Market, complete with stall selling handicrafts, leather goods and electronic gadgets. The perfect place to pick up a few bargain presents while you soak in the bustling atmosphere. And remember to bargain with a smile!

Phuket Zoo - If you are bringing the kids along Phuket, then a sight they will never forget is the Phuket Zoo. Elephants, Tigers and Crocodiles all reside in the Zoo - all essential 'must see animals' of a South East Asian country - along with an incredible Monkey show that will have you clapping along with the basketball playing, bike riding posing simians.

Phuket FantaSea - Billed as "the ultimate cultural theme park" FantaSea is a celebration of Thailands rich and exotic heritage - showcasing the beauty and charm of Thailand whilst also enlightening the audience with ancient Thai traditions and history. The show starts at 9pm nightly - and there is plenty to do and see before the show starts. Wander around and be amazed at the scale of the theatre, then settle down for an explosion of colour and dare-devil stunts.
