The idea is that different groups from within the local community sponsor a 3 metre by 3 metre plot of land in which trees indigenous to the area are then planted. The event was extremely well supported with over 700 trees being planted! West Sands was well represented at the event, several staff members using their national holiday to go and do their bit for the environment. Although it must be said that some members of staff did a little more of the hard work than others (Mentioning no names, Barry!). A huge thank you goes to all the West Sands staff who took the time to plant trees, helping to ensure that Mai Khao looks as spectacular in a hundred years as it does now. West Sands has helped manage and sponsor the team of local youths since its inception eighteen months ago and the team coach 'Master Jay' is very hopeful of a future Thai Olympic Boxing team member being chosen from the boys.
